The unexplored lodes of Vinny Reunov’s previously forgotten concepts are quite a joy to behold. As the main goal of the “Covers…” series, Reunov creates his paintings by projecting pop icons into the
world of elitist art culture as art symbols.

The specific iconography of socially prominent personal brands is an important aspect of the project. Any celebrity, any socially recognizable figure, be it a politician, a movie actor, an athlete or a musician, have a community of fans that project their own latent desires onto this person. According to Reunov, this “community of people that appreciate the talent of the prominent figure” launches the mechanism of “artistic cultivation” and, due to its mass nature, allows to create a whole new direction in contemporary art.

These works mark the beginning of a new visual era in which the familiar territorial and social ties lose their relevance, and global trends progress confidently across the globe.
