Pavlo Makov - The Tablecloths

The Tablecloths project began back in 2006-2007 as a metaphor of the state that the mad banquet of
scoundrels had left Ukraine in. 

After 2014, the homegrown scoundrels were joined by invaders from the north. Concrete blocks that
became an element of the terrifying quotidian life started to appear amid dirty knives and forks on the
tablecloths.

A lot has changed since then. Some things have changed for the better, but not all of them. We want to
wash the tablecloth on our shared table and discard the dirty utensils, the blocks that stop us in our
tracks and other trash, and we are paying a terrible price for that.
